Noah Simon, Interim Executive Director of City Center Waco

City Center Waco is pleased to welcome Noah Simon to the organization this week as the new Interim Executive Director.

The City Center Waco board will soon begin a strategic planning process before launching a search for a permanent executive director

“I appreciate the confidence that City Center Waco Board President Mark Arias and the rest of the board have placed in me,” Simon said. “I’m excited to serve the organization during this transition and to partner with the Board and all stakeholders as City Center Waco embarks on their strategic planning efforts.”

Most recently, Simon was deputy town manager of Westlake in the Fort Worth area. He has also spent a career serving in city and county management roles and in community development in Virginia, Georgia, Minnesota, Maryland and Texas.

“With his wide array of experience with downtowns and in city management positions, Noah will be able to help us maintain momentum in City Center Waco’s work, while also working with the board on strategic planning that will shape the organization’s future. We’re glad to have him here,” said Mark Arias, City Center Waco Board President.

Simon joins City Center Waco Director of Communications Wendy Gragg and Administrative Assistant Julie Shelton.

“I’ll work with the dedicated City Center Waco team to continue the day-to-day work that makes the downtown district and surrounding neighborhoods thrive.  There is a lot of excitement, passion, energy and a real sense of community and place here,” Simon said. “I am excited to jump in and get to know Waco better.”

City Center Waco, a contractor with the City of Waco, steers development in Downtown Waco and the surrounding neighborhoods. One of the organization’s largest responsibilities is managing the Downtown Waco Public Improvement District. Managing the PID includes a range of work from keeping downtown clean and safe to marketing and messaging for Downtown Waco.
